This .exe file installs everything you need to begin. The CSLogSource application is provided free of charge, and enables you to search the Canstrat library, view record data, log versions, thumbnails, label/tag records and create notes on logs of interest.

The installer will:
- put everything into one directory (C:\Canstrat)
- does not install anything bad on your system (ie: no hidden files, etc..)

- double-click CSLogSource_Install.exe
- let the installer create a shortcut for
CSLogSource on your desktop
Download the data (600+mb) - CSLogSourceDATA_Install.exe

This .exe file installs the digital interval data component. You don't need to install the data component to use CSLogSource. But, it does enable registered users to query the Canstrat intervals database, which is what CSLogSource is all about.

The installer will:
- put the data files in (C:\Canstrat\CSLogSource\CSdata)

To install:
- double-click CSLogSourceDATA_Install.exe
CSLogSource application is installed here:

The CSuser Archive directory by default is created in:

The CSuser Archive directory stores downloaded user logs, data files, well keys, and backups. It can be set to reside on another mounted volume (see Settings).

All path dependencies are relative to the root of the application. The application and database files need to reside on a user's internal HD for optimum query speed.

*default location of the CSuser archive directory (can be moved in Settings/CSuser)
Launch CSLogSource:
- double-click the shortcut on your desktop
- if DATA is installed,
CSLogSource will recognize the digital interval data component
- the application always checks for a connection to a network (for user activation)
- you don't need a connection to the internet to search and browse the Canstrat library
- you do need a network connection, and need to be registered to have full functions

Un-registered (or basic-free users)

CSLogSource can be used with or without the digital intervals data component
- un-registered users can query the Canstrat library
- purchase raster logs, ascii, and LAS data
- use
CSLogSource to download and manage previously purchased Canstrat data

If the
digital interval data component is installed, the (basic) user can view a portion of the digital data on a per log basis (footage interval depths, formation names, and rock type). The basic user however, can't query the digital data until the user becomes a paid client to one of the Canstrat's subscription services.

Registered users
- will definitely want to install the data component
- if the download file is too large, please email a request for a CD installer
